Mental Health

Mental Health is a service designed to target communities, mental health consumers and their families to provide them with treatment and assistance in meeting basic needs such as housing, jobs, education, social services, transportation medical and nursing care. Mental Health programs are designed to bridge the knowledge gap between identifying effective approaches to the delivery of mental health services and the application gap of putting those approaches together in local communities.

Mental Illnesses Are Common
Mental Health problems are health conditions involving changes in thinking, mood, or behavior. The symptoms of mental illness differ widely, but one thing is the same: receiving treatment and community support is crucial to recovery.

What Is Recovery?
Recovery refers to the process in which people are able to live, work, learn, and participate fully in their communities. For some individuals, recovery is the ability to live a fulfilling and productive life despite a disability. For others, recovery implies the reduction or complete remission of symptoms. Science has shown that having hope plays an integral role in an individual's recovery.

What Is The Right Time To Get Help?

Periods of sadness, discouragement, depression, or difficulty adjusting to new situations occur at times in nearly everyone's life. Such feelings are not unusual, but are painful, especially if they are frequent or prolonged. Feelings of hopelessness or worthless prevent some people from seeking help and it is difficult for family and friends to urge someone they care about intiate treatment.

If you have symptoms, or are concerned about a friend, call us and talk it over with one of our mental health clinicians. Talking with a professional about ways to cope with the situation can make a difference. In general,  a person who in thinking about whether or not to get help should go ahead and get it. And remember, all talk of suicide is serious and should be shared with someone in a position to help.
